it’s gonna be big.
Heather Rasley, Sasha Volynets and I have created The Drawing Room, a monthly event for designers in the Bay area.
The Drawing Room is a monthly event where people can share their work, receive solid feedback, improve their designs, and learn new techniques and trends. The goal is to help awesome designers (and design novices, too) improve their design skills.
The first event will be held on May 23 May 30* in San Francisco**. Right now we’re writing up activities and setting up the event structure. Designers, we want your feedback. Join the wiki and start sharing your ideas!
I’m extremely excited about The Drawing Room, the first regular event where I can put my designs up for critique and recieve solid feedback. Coworking, BarCamp and SHDH were our inspiration, but The Drawing Room seeks to address specific needs designers have—the need for useful critiques, welcoming spaces to present designs that aren’t yet finished, and curated discussions.
If you’ve thought or written about design events, useful design sessions, or how to moderate and design critiques, I really want to talk to you. Ping me on Twitter or send me an email at timoni@timoni.org.
