Hunch asked: Would you rather live forever, or live a normal lifespan? I picked “live forever” and was surprised to see that I was in the minority.
I think assuming humans wouldn’t deal well with artificially extended lifespans is in the same scifi urban legend category as ‘Advanced AI Means Robots Will Inevitably Try To Dominate Mankind’. Untested, assumed to be true despite all evidence, sort of stupid once you think about it for a few minutes, and oddly pervasive.
