I wonder if at some point during the filming of “Labyrinth,” David Bowie expressed some sort of reservation about being almost forty and cast against a teenager, and then I wonder whether somebody else, maybe the best boy, looked at him and said, “Goddamnit, man! You’re David Bowie!”. And then I wonder if David Bowie would’ve said, “Yes, I am,” in that deep sexy voice, and then turn and walk away humming “Dance Magic Dance” quietly under his breath.
